Following his recent visit to Peoples Church, a man was greeted a few weeks later at his home by David's EE team. This Man had been seeking God, and he was so open and ready to hear the Gospel message. After sharing their testimony, the EE team was privileged to lead this gentleman in prayer as he willingly received Christ into his life.

He was invited to attend Foundations in Christian Growth taught by Camelia Cross, and he attended very faithfully. This man is now active in another adult ministry class and is meeting regularly with a Timothy Bible Study leader. He is really growing in his new life in Christ. EE sure does work!

Jodie and her team were visiting with a recently divorced man. Though he was a Christian, the divorce had left him "shaky" in his faith, and he really appreciated being reminded that he still has the assurance of eternal life. Because the divorce had left him hurt and bitter, what he also needed was prayer. After praying with the team he talked for a long time, and was able to share many of his hurts and needs. When it was time for the team to leave, he asked if they could stay a few more minutes. This man had recently started piano lessons, and he wanted to play several songs for them before they left. It was very touching to simply show him some genuine personal attention and interest. He was invited to attend a Divorce Care class and to get involved at Peoples Church. And as the visit ended, this man was a real blessing for Jodie and her team.

Elaine with the Peoples Church EE for Seniors ministry reported this sweet story. While visiting at a local retirement home, they met Lloyd, who could not speak a single word because of a stroke and was very forlorn. Elaine began to lead the team in a hymn. Elaine relates, "The Lord loosed his tongue, and gave him a special window of discernment, because Lloyd began to sing along with us! "Jesus Loves Me", "The Old Rugged Cross", "In the Garden"…every word was clear and distinct. After praying with Lloyd, we were so glad to see him in a peaceful and happy mood." When they returned the following week for other visits, Elaine discovered that Lloyd had passed away over the weekend. What a privilege it was for the EE team to minister to Lloyd is such a sweet and gentle way.

A ready and willing witness…that was the role Paul's EE team played when visiting an apartment complex. As they were walking back to the car, Paul knew they had to knock on a particular door as they passed it. They went back, knocked, and a lady answered. She had been crying. They told her they were from Peoples Church, and she was astonished. She said, "I have been praying that God would send someone to comfort me!" This lady had been diagnosed with cancer, and was driving to Los Angeles for more testing and treatment. She lived alone, with no family or friends in town. As she wept with joy, the EE team was able to pray with her and offer her loving comfort and friendship. As the team was leaving, this dear lady said, "The fear and pain I was feeling is gone, I have peace, comfort and joy! Thank you for coming." Thank the Lord for divine appointments and the opportunity to offer a cool cup of water when people are thirsting.

In an apartment parking lot, Jim and his EE team were getting ready to return to Peoples Church. They saw a young woman and said hello. She was waiting for a ride to work. When asked the two EE questions, she answered them correctly, and immediately began to weep. She confessed that she was using drugs and living with a man. To this point, Jim had not said one word, other than to ask the two questions. She was so convicted she asked for prayer and our team was able to give her words of assurance from the Bible to help her break the chains of bondage. What a God we serve who cares for each of us so carefully. Jim said he can never simply walk past a stranger again without watching and listening for the opportunity to share the good news!

David was standing under a tree in New Delhi, India. A taxi driver walked up and said, "Nice beard!" A friendly conversation got underway. As a bridge of friendship was built, David asked this young man, Ricky, the two EE questions. Ricky had no idea how to answer, but was interested in hearing more. As the Gospel was presented Ricky listened intently and carefully, but David was distracted by a loud ruckus nearby. A man had suddenly walked up and appeared to be intoxicated. He was yelling, "Don't listen, he is telling you lies, walk away!" But Ricky stood firmly in his place. David was wondering what to do next, when suddenly another taxi zoomed around the corner. Two men got out and escorted the intoxicated man down the street, just like that! David continued presenting the Gospel, and Ricky prayed to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior in downtown New Delhi. What an amazing event-this disruptive man was removed as quickly as he had appeared! The power of the Gospel will not be hindered!
